Choosing a Hair Salon in High Point, NC

Updated: Feb 10, 2023

Choosing a salon is an important decision. It's not just about the style of your hair or how to keep it healthy; it's also about finding a place where you feel comfortable and at home. You want to be able to trust your stylist, so make sure they're qualified and experienced enough for what you need, this is an opportunity to build relationships with other people in your life!

Go in for a consultation

It's essential to do your research about the salon and its stylists.

  • Ask questions. You want a stylist who listens to what you want and understands how much time you're willing to spend on getting there.

  • Get to know each other. If you make an appointment, go in for a consultation first—and don't be afraid to try out some ideas!

  • Ask about their training/experience/philosophy/style (or whatever else is important). It should align with yours—otherwise why would you both be there?

Look around the salon while you're there

When you visit a salon, look around.

  • Is it clean?

  • Are the chairs comfortable?

  • Is there an inviting atmosphere that makes you want to stay a while?

If the answer to these questions is no, then an appointment may not be worth your time or money. You should also consider whether or not this salon has a style that intrigues you—and if their personality comes through in their work. If they don't seem like they'd do an excellent job cutting and styling your hair, doing a great color job, etc., then it's probably best to look elsewhere. And finally: check out how much experience the stylist has had with your type of hair and what kind of product line she uses. If her work looks good but she doesn't use quality products on them (or doesn't know much about them) then she might not be able to give you what you need either!
